The Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Workers’ Association acknowledges that we gather, live, and work on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. We recognize that this land has been stewarded by the Mi’kmaq since time immemorial, and it continues to be home to vibrant Mi’kmaw communities today.
We are all Treaty people, and we honour the spirit and intent of the Peace and Friendship Treaties, which call on us to live in relationship, respect, and mutual care.
We also acknowledge the long history, strength, and contributions of African Nova Scotians, who have lived here for over 400 years and who continue to shape the culture, history, and life of this province.
As Child and Youth Care practitioners, we commit ourselves to walking alongside Mi’kmaw and African Nova Scotian youth, families, and communities in ways that uphold these responsibilities and contribute to reconciliation, equity, and justice in practice and in spirit.

Welcome!
The NSCYCWA is back and building something exciting for Child and Youth Care practitioners across Nova Scotia.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to add and refine our site!
